Keys to living a successful life

We believe our church is a family where everyone is to be encouraged and cared for. With this family approach in mind it is our aim to provide support to those facing real-life issues.

WORSHIP

we were designed and created to worship God and to enjoy him forever. Worship is all about our hearts and reflects a life that is surrendered to Jesus.

PRAYER

We believe that prayer does indeed change things. Prayer is a two-way relationship where we not only speak to God, but He speaks to us. We are encouraged to pray all the time and in every situation. James 5:16, Col 4:2, Roms 12:12

THE WORD

We believe the Bible is living and active and totally relevant to living in today’s world. The truth of scripture never changes and it is full of instruction, encouragement, comfort and inspiration. It also challenges, disciplines and gives guidance for modern living. From start to finish it reveals the loving heart of God and centres on His son, Jesus Christ. Heb 4:12, Ps 119:105, 2 Tim 3:16

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe the Holy Spirit is a person who wants to have a vibrant relationship with every born again believer. It is essential that we invite the Holy Spirit into every area of our lives and allow him to guide us and lead us into all truth. He will empower us to be witnesses, anoint us with the spiritual gifts and bring revelation into our lives, resulting in us displaying the fruits of the Holy Spirit. John 14:26, Titus 3:6, Acts 1:8

GIVING

We believe it is important to honour God with the Firstfruits of our labour and we encourage the biblical principle of tithing, which is giving 10% of our income into the local church which we attend and call home. The Bible also encourages us to give offerings over and above our tithe which are usually for a specific purpose. Our giving should reflect a heart which wants to put God first in every area of Our Lives. 2 Cor 9:7, Prov 3:9, Mal 3:10

SERVING

We believe that God has blessed each individual with unique gifts and talents which can be used to support and build the local church. Serving in the church is a great way to get to know people and make a personal contribution to the lives of others. This area is covered in more detail in John 12:26, 1 Peter 4:10, Ps 100:2

WATER BAPTISM

We Believe that it is important for every follower of Jesus to be baptized in water. Following the example of Jesus, we believe that water baptism is a full body immersion and for those who are saved and following Christ.

COMMUNION

We believe it is important to regularly share Communion together. We do this usually on the first Sunday each month and also at our Connected Groups and also at other times. We also encourage people to take communion regularly on their own.

HONOUR

We believe that HONOUR is vital in the House of God as it reflects the principles of the Kingdom of God. We are exhorted to love and respect everyone, regardless of background etc and scripture commands us to honour those who God has placed in leadership over us in the Local church.

UNITY

As God’s family, we are called to love each other and live in harmony together. Psalm 133 states that God commands a blessing where there is unity. We also know that the spirit of unity is an area that the enemy, the devil, will always try and attack and undermine, so it is so important that we guard and protect the unity in the body of Christ.

LIFE-GIVING

Our Vision Statment states that we are a life-giving church. This means that both our actions and our words should always be reflecting the life of Christ in us, which means we don’t gossip, give a bad report or speak negatively of people, our leaders or the church.

GRATITUDE

The Apostle Paul exhorts us in 1 Thess 5:18 to ” always be thankful in every situation because this is God’s will for us.” Thankfulness is such a powerful spiritual weapon for us. Let’s be a people who are known for a Spirit of gratitude among us.

CAN DO

We believe that we should always have a can-do attitude and demonstrate. a behaviour which says we will do whatever it takes to get things done. We are always willing to help and step in and serve in areas outside of what we normally do because we are always aware of bigger vision and greats purpose.

MARRIAGE

We believe that marriage is ordained by God and is the union between a man and a woman. Our Pastor is registered as an Officiate of Marriage and able to conduct marriages in Northern Ireland. Those planning to get married should ideally be part of Grace Generation Church and are required to attend marriage preparation classes before their wedding.

BABY DEDICATION

We do not do infant baptism or christening at Grace Generation, but instead we offer baby dedication to parents who are planted in our church family.

PASTORAL CARE

Our heart at Grace Generation is to see everyone flourish in life and become all that God has called them to be. While this can be very exciting, we are also aware that life can be hard and that people face all kinds of issues in their lives and therefore we want to support people in their difficult days and cheer them on as they move forward.

We believe the local church is a family and it is important that we stay connected together.

Our Pastoral Care starts in our Connect Groups which are small groups of anywhere between 8-15 people who meet in homes fortnightly.

After this we have a Pastoral Care Team which is made up of individuals who are gifted at coming alongside people and offering spiritual support. Complimenting this is a Prayer Team who will faithfully pray for people and situations as requested to do so.

People can request a pastoral visit by completing a pastoral care card.

All Pastoral Care activities are carried out under strict confidentiality
