A huge welcome to Joseph O’Keefe who joined our team a few weeks ago through to June 2019.  Joseph is from USA and is on a work placement from PAIS, which is a global youth ministry. Joseph will be working with our young people, assisting with various church ministries and developing schools ministry. Please make Joseph feel welcome and part of our church family.

We had a little chat with Joseph…

Hi Joseph where are you from?

I grew up in a city called Manchester, New Hampshire, 30min drive north from Boston, USA. I lived there most of my life until two years ago when God brought me to Ireland to work as a  missionary long term, serving with PAIS

Being a missionary abroad is never something that I thought would be possible for me, but my experience with PAIS has been fantastic and it’s an answer to prayer to once again be working in Ireland, here at Grace Generation. You guys are….”awesome’!.

Tell us a little about the past couple of years and how PAIS works?

Pais is a mission organisation that offers passionate young people the opportunity to travel all over the world to make disciples. Our vision being Missionaries making missionaries!
Over the past two years I was placed in Belfast and Dungannon with the Pais Movement. Before that I did summer missions working in Derry, Coleraine, and Portrush.

What are you most looking forward to in the year ahead? (Apart from Christmas!)

Haha I do love Christmas! I just think that Chirstmas Joy is something that should be kept in your hearts and minds all year long.
I will say I am really excited to see these young people grow into sold out followers of Christ.  For myself, I’m looking forward to working under Paul and Helen. Learning from them and understanding what it means to have all that it takes. I hope to have a stretching, faith growing year.

Thanks Joseph, finally what’s your favourite song, favourite colour and is it Galxay or Cadburys for you?!

Ah… haha I’m not sure if i can narrow it down to one. I have so many favourite songs. I enjoy all kinds of music. I’ll have to give you two: Gypsy by Fleetwood Mac and 1979 by Smashing Pumpkins. Favourite colour is Orange.
Re chocolate, ahh I don’t think I can narrow it down to one. Give me some expensive dark chocolate and I’ll be good!
But I don’t love chocolate as much as Pastor Paul does!
